HYBRID ROUTE (TRADITIONAL + ALTERNATE)
Some educator preparation programs at the master's level allow you to complete the certification requirements first in the program so that you can teach at the same time and complete certification as soon as possible. Once you are done with the certification requirements, you continue teaching and finish up the degree requirements for the master's program. Not all graduate programs offer this option, and each has its own requirements. Following a route like this is a hybrid because you mix elements of a traditional route (degree program) with an alternate route (teaching while completing remaining certification requirements).
